Dr. Kouruosh Kayvani

Partner & Asia-Pacific Head of EngineeringHKA

Dr. Kayvani is a chartered professional engineer with over 30 years of experience as a consulting engineer, technical expert, and executive leader of professional services companies.  He has played leading roles in the design and delivery of many innovative and complex projects across the globe. His project portfolio includes Wembley Stadium in London, West Kowloon Terminus in Hong Kong, Barito Suspension Bridge in Indonesia, and Lusail Stadium in Qatar, amongst many others.  

Dr. Kayvani’s expertise includes design and construction engineering of sports stadia, tall buildings, and long span structures as well as acting as an engineering expert in resolving construction disputes. He is a winner of IABSE Prize awarded by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering for his work on long-span structures world-wide.

Dr. Kayvani is on the board of directors for Engineers Australia and a senate member of the FIDIC academy. He was previously the global Managing Director – Design, Innovation & Eminence of Aurecon and a member of its global executive leadership team.

Joo-Heon Lee

Professor of the Civil Engineering Department│Joongbu University

Professor Joo-Heon Lee, Ph.D. in hydrology from Kyung Hee University, specializes in hydrologic science, climate change, and water resources engineering. He heads Joongbu University IACF, serves on the Presidential Water Commission, and holds leadership roles in UNESCO-IHP and the Korea Federation of Water Science and Engineering Societies. He is also on the board of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers.

Young-Ho Kim

Vice President & Head of Disaster PreventionDasan Consultant

Dr. Young-Ho Kim, with a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Hongik University, is a licensed professional water resources development engineer. He has worked with the Ministry of Interior and Safety on disaster recovery and risk reduction committees. Dr. Kim is the technical director for the Korea Water Resources Association, the auditor for the Korea Disaster Prevention Association, and serves on the board of directors for the Korea River Association.

Hae-Dong Kim

Department of Environmental EngineeringKeimyung University

Professor Kim has a Ph.D. in meteorology from the University of Tokyo. His expertise is in climate change, climate and disaster resilience, and the evaluation of carbon emission efficiency.

Professor Kim has worked with several governmental institutions as a professional climatologist, including the Korea meteorological administration. He has also written several books on climate change and the environment.

Sun-Kwon Yoon

Division of Climate Change ResearchThe Seoul Institute

Dr. Yoon has a Ph.D. in hydraulic engineering from the University of Seoul. His research interests include water resources management in terms of urban flood damage reduction under changing climate.

Dr. Yoon was the team leader of the Climate Application Team at the APEC Climate Center and now works with the Ministry of Environment as a member of the Han River Water Management Committee.

Dukwoo Jun

Circular Economy Lead & Trust Fund CoordinatorGlobal Green Growth Institute(GGGI)

Dukwoo Jun is a prominent leader in green economic development, focusing on initiatives In the circular and bio-economies. As the global lead at GGGI, he has developed innovative circular economy investment solutions. His work with public-private partnerships has facilitated the launch of pioneering waste-to-value projects in developing countries, incorporating advanced practices such as waste-to-energy, biomass-based plastics, biochar, and biohydrogen. Before his current role, he served as a director and circular economy specialist at the National Institute of Green Technology of the Republic of Korea. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UCLA.
